Slingair Heliwork WA is a charter aviation company based in the Kimberley region of far north Western Australia. The Kimberley is rugged, remote and famous for awe inspiring scenery – amazing mountain ranges, deep gorges, huge rivers, pristine beaches and breath taking coastlines. The area has a growing economy with key industries including; mining, horticulture, fishing, pearling,agriculture and tourism.
Our head office is in Kununurra – the gateway to the East Kimberley, a tropical town with around 7000 residents. Kununurra is 42km from the Northern Territory border and services tens of thousands of tourists each year with the tourist season being from May – October. Slingair Heliwork WA has bases in Derby,Warmun,Drysdale River Station, Mitchell River National Park, Purnululu National Park and Broome.

Slingair operates 23 aeroplanes and Heliwork WA has 16 helicopters so, no matter where you want to go, we have the aircraft to get you there! We concentrate on tours that take you to some of the most beautiful and inaccessible areas in the world. Our mission capabilities include; passenger charter, mining company FIFO, air freight, RFDS clinic flights, RASS remote area mail run, search and rescue, aerial geophysical work, photography, scenic flights and tailor made itineraries. Slingair Heliwork WA has been in operation since 1984 and has grown to become part of the largest privately owned aviation company in Australia. Recently (April 2008) purchased by Curry Kenny Aviation, the company now has access to significant aviation resources across the nation.

Curry Kenny Aviation Holdings Pty Ltd is a member of the Curry Kenny Group, which is a major player in the Australian and Papua New Guinea aviation industry. The group has steadily grown in size to seven aeroplane and helicopter companies which operate over seventy aircraft ranging from the Robinson R22 training helicopters to the twin engine IFR Bell 430 used in off shore marine pilot transfer and SAR operations. Aeroplane types include Cessna Citation Jets, Cessna Caravans and other smaller aircraft used in training and tourism operations. The group operates maintenance facilities at their major bases.
We have our own maintenance business which services only our fleet. This way we ensure that all maintenance is performed to our rigorous standard and we don’t have to wait in line to have our fleet worked on.

Fleet
Our aircraft are chosen to suit our remote situation, the needs of our customers and our harsh environment. Our fixed wing fleet ranges from the 14 seat turbine engine Cessna Grand Caravans, to the twin engine Pipers and Cessnas as well as smaller single engine Cessnas and the Australian built GA8 Airvan.
The helicopter fleet includes Bell Longrangers, Jetrangers and Robinson R44’s.
With the size and variety of our company fleet, we can provide the right mix of aircraft to best suit the needs of our clients.
Facilities – We have our own airport terminal in Kununurra, which accommodates 120 people and has disabled facilities. We have fully equipped remote bases at Broome, Derby, Purnululu National Park, Warmun and Mitchell River National Park.
